Eagles News · Girls and Boys Basketball Teams defeat Jenison


The girls and boys varsity basketball teams defeated Jenison on Friday night in front of a raucous crowd at Jenison.  Rachel Driesenga and Alyssa VanHam combined for 30 of the teams 44 points.  This win puts the Lady Eagles at 6-3 going into conference play starting this Tuesday as they travel to Rockford.

The boys basketball team won 71-63.  Leading the charge for the Eagles was Cody Stuive scoring 25 points.  Tanner Opple was huge spark off the bench scoring a varsity career high 11 points.

“We were happy to get the win,” said Head Coach Eric Elliott. “It was nice to see us get to the line 34 times, a season-high. Now we are looking forward to OK Red play.”

This puts the Eagles at 4-4 heading into the big conference-opening game versus Rockford on Tuesday.  Lets fill the stands for this OK Red battle on Tuesday at Hudsonville High School.  Freshmen start at 4:00PM followed by the JV team at 5:30PM and the Varsity will at 7:00PM.
