Dual-threat carries Hudsonville Freshman past East Kentwood 12-1
Michael Sibbersen was strong at the plate and on the hill in carrying the Hudsonville Eagles Freshman (19-2) to a 12-1 victory over East Kentwood on Tuesday at Hudsonville Freshman Field. Sibbersen got on base three times in the game for the Eagles. He also was in control on the mount holding East Kentwood hit less over four innings, allowing one earned run, while walking five and striking out nine.
Ten runs in the first three innings helped the Eagles get things started. An RBI double by Brendan Ham and a RBI groundout by Carson Price capped the scoring in the first inning with another Price RBI single in the second got Hudsonville on the board early. Drew Martine also added two RBI in route to the victory.
Eagles take second game of double header 15-0 over East Kentwood
Tyler Vlcek got the win in just three innings of work against the Falcons. He held East Kentwood to one hit while giving up one walk and striking out four. He got plenty of run support led by Garrett Rice with four RBI and Brendan McManus adding another two RBI.
