The Varsity Eagles Water Polo team started the first period with a strong lead of 4-0. The team also finished with a strong showing in the 4th period and ending the game at 13-4 for a West Region 1 Division game win. Madeline Worst lead the team in steals and goals, including two 5-meter goals, scoring a total of 6 points. Assisting with additional points were Alaina Lubber with 4 goals, Emily Tuttle with 2 goals and Grace Boeve with a goal. The Eagles maintained a strong defense and Annalise Patsiavos was able to block 4 shots on goals. With this win the Lady Eagles are now 3-0 in West Region District 1 Standings.
The JV game followed the Varsity game and also had an impressive offensive and defensive game. The JV team ended the game with a score of 10-1. A well-rounded team allowed scores from many of the team including Aubrey Buckingham (3 goals), Jessica Otey (2 goals), Claire Tuttle (2 goals), Grace Boeve (1 goal), Lauren Phelps (1 goal) and McKenna Brink (1 goal). Lauren Phelps lead the team with 4 steals. Sophomore goalie Emma Lamers had 6 blocks.
The Lady Eagles have another West Region District 1 game on Thursday at home vs Zeeland with the JV game at 6:00 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM. Come out and support the top state-ranked girls water polo team!
