Northview High School
Hudsonville High School
The Hudsonville Eagles celebrated a victory over the Northview Wildcats last week, coming out strong with a 14-3 win. Hudsonville opened the night by recognizing the newest additions to the Girls Lacrosse Program, the 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade teams. The game was played hard by the attack players, led by seniors Casey Heintzelman with 5 goals, and Kenzie Miller with 4 goals. Crucial shots and strong offensive plays led to the Eagles scoring almost every time the ball found its way to the offensive side of the field. Other scorers, included Kalina Foster with 2 goals, and Sophia Lirio, Lauren Hanenburg, and Emily Weinmann, each with 1 goal. The defense helped lead the team to victory as well, causing Northview to turn over the ball often through interceptions and ground balls.
The Eagles also honored their seniors Wednesday night for the years they have contributed to the team. Seniors Casey Heintzelman (5 years), Kenzie Miller (5 years), Katie Hirt (5 years), Bailey Russell (4 years), Lauren Hanenburg (3 years), Kalina Foster (2 years), Katherine Hughes (2 years), and Cara Beld (1 year), walked alongside their parents and teammates as the crowd got to reminisce with them, hearing of their future plans, old stories, and advice for the rest of the team and the growing lacrosse program.
