Eagles News · Hudsonville Lacrosse Falls to Grandville 3-2

In a hard fought game in Grandville Tuesday night the boys’ varsity lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Bulldogs 3-2.  In a very tight game where penalties were more prevalent than scoring, the Eagles came up on the short end.  The Eagles fell behind 1-0 early but came back on a man up with a great rocket shot from Senior attackman Jack Beltz from the left side to tie the score at one.  The Eagle defense was strong, only allowing 12 total shots for the game, despite being man down many times, and no goals during the second or third period.

Early into the fourth period, the Eagles again found themselves a man down and fought hard but allowed a goal by the Bulldogs, for a 2-1 Bulldog advantage.  The Eagles finally found themselves in a man up situation and Jack Beltz again found the back of the net to tie the score at 2-2.  With 5 minutes remaining the Bulldogs, man up again, scored, for what would be the game winner, to lead 3-2.  The final score for the game was 3-2, but the  8 penalties for the Eagles was too much to overcome. Sophomore Goalie Josh Millenbach played a great game in net stopping 9 of 12 shots for a 75% save ratio.

The Eagles are on a break for Spring Break and return to action in Hudsonville Thursday April 12th,  at 7:00pm vs. Forest Hills Eastern.  Come on out and support your Eagles and have a great spring break.
