Eagles News · Samuels Brothers Finish Historic Careers at MHSAA Individual State Finals

Day 2 of Individual State Wrestling finals saw the Samuel boys back in action. James wrestled  in the first round of the day winning 3-2. In the second round Jack won 12-2. James was on the mat at the same time dropping a close match 1-5.

In the placing rounds Jack won 6-3, claiming third place in the state at 145. James followed on the mat where he pinned his opponent in 1:25, claiming fifth place in the state at 152.

Jack Samuels leaves the Hudsonville Wrestling program with the all time wins record and an overall record of 188-17. He is the only 4 time first team all state selection in the history of the Hudsonville wrestling program. James Samuels had a fantastic career as well compiling a record of 145-48. James was a two all state selection. It has been a lot of fun to watch these guys compete over the last four years, while raising the bar for the wrestling program at the same time.
