The Eagles boys lacrosse defeated the Zeeland Dux 6-4 Wednesday night in Grandville, with a great team effort, to advance to the Regional finals versus Rockford next Wednesday night. The Eagles avenged an early season loss to Zeeland with a strong overall performance. The offense came out strong lead by Sophomore Caleb Rice, who was dominant at faceoff winning 11 of 14 (79%) to help get the Eagles offense going the entire game. Junior Middie Cam Richards found the back of the net with just a few minutes into the game, and he finished with two goals for the night. The Eagles never trailed in the game and never looked back after Richards early goal. Senior Middie Justin Rappuhn added two goals and Junior Attack Bryce Hall and Senior Attack Jon Bickford each added a goal. The Eagles peppered the Dux goalie all night with 21 shots on goal. Defense was very strong lead by Junior D Poles Johnny Miller, Cole Buiskool and Senior Blake Tuttle, who badgered the Dux all night long forcing a slew of turnovers. Junior Goalie Josh Millenbach had a great night stopping 11 of the 15 shots he faced for a 73% save percentage.
