The Eagles lose a heart breaker in overtime of the opening game in their Holiday Tournament. This game was back and forth action where either team could have won, but it was Jackson winning in overtime. The game was scoreless until the second when Jackson scored to make it 1-0. Hudsonville would out shoot Jackson in the 2nd 20-9, but Jackson’s goalie could not be beat.
In the 3rd period, the Eagles had great goal tending from Cam Griep to give them a chance to tie the game and with 29 seconds left in the game, Thaad Waalkes scored to tie the game up, assisted by Colton Barber.
In overtime the Eagles were overly aggressive trying to win the game and Jackson took advantage with a 2 on 1 to end the game two minutes into the overtime period.
The arena was packed with fans again to support the Eagles and we thank you for the support as everyone saw a faced pace hard hitting game that could have gone either way. Hats off to both goalies, Barrett Roe of Jackson who faced 39 shots and Cam Griep who faced 32 for the Eagles. The Eagles would now face Saint Claire Shores in the consolation game on Saturday.
