The Eagles traveled to East Kentwood Friday night to take on the Falcons in a big OK Red match up. The Falcons came into the game 6-2 with their only two losses coming to very good State ranked teams. The Eagles came out ready to play and got out to a 14 -5 lead, thanks to great defense and a pair of 3’s from Emma Costen. The Second quarter was back and fourth with the Falcons out scoring the Eagles 11-9 in the quarter. This led to a 45-41 halftime score with the Eagles ahead. In the 3rd Quarter, the Eagles struggled at time to hit the open shot and the Falcon defense caused some key turnovers to give them some easy buckets. At the end of the 3rd the Falcons took a one point lead, 35-34 over the Eagles.
The fourth quarter started well for the Eagles as Maddie Petroelje hit a 3 to put the Eagles ahead and then the battle continued as the Falcons would tie it up multiple times before the Eagles took the lead for good, thanks to another 3 by Costen and some key free throws down the stretch by Jaci Tubergen.
