Eagle Varsity Ski Teams competed in SWMSC Conference Race #5 on Wednesday night at Bittersweet Ski Resort. In the final race of the conference season, both the boys. and girls. teams took 4th place. The night showcased the team's growth this season with zero disqualifications across all events. On the girls side, senior, Gwen Marsh, had her top performance of the year leading the team with a 9th place overall results (8th in GS and 12th in SL). She was supported by Veronica DeWitt, Anna Bolhuis, and Marlene Freiberg who all contributed scoring runs. Notably, 4 of our top girls finishers were in the top 20 for the night in slalom on a very techincal and demanding course. The boys nearly took 3rd place with just 4 points separating them from Portage. Ryer Harrell, Karson Smedley, Kenan Fogt, and Camillo Ciocchi scored for the boys in giant slalom while the top 4 slalom scores for the team came from Harrell, Fogt, Ciocchi and Eli Bentley. Junior, Ryer Harrell kept his streak going with 4 straight top 5 slalom finishes and added his season best, 6th place finish, in GS. The ski team competes in Division I regionals at Cannonsburg this coming Monday.
