The Hudsonville Freshman Eagles jumped out early and never looked back, defeating Grand Rapids Christian 12-0 in game one of Friday’s doubleheader. Easton Morton had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a single, double, and two RBIs to lead the offense. The Eagles broke the game open in the first inning, scoring nine runs through a mix of patience and timely hitting. Tyler Reibel and Jamison Hugo each drew bases-loaded walks, Eli Feenstra and Finnegan Rayla added RBI singles, and Morton delivered a two-run hit. A wild pitch and a hit-by-pitch to Landon Meduna also brought in runs during the big inning. Hudsonville added three more in the third, capitalizing on an error and another hit-by-pitch from Hugo to extend the lead. On the mound, Dakari Grays was dominant, tossing four innings of one-hit ball while striking out seven.
