Hudsonville JV Baseball Sweeps Loy Norrix in Doubleheader

Hudsonville JV Baseball put together an impressive day at the plate and on the mound Saturday, sweeping Loy Norrix JV in a pair of mercy-rule wins. The Eagles took Game 1 by a score of 18-3 in four innings, scoring in every inning and never letting up offensively. Jack Arens led the way with a huge game at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in four runs. Luke Uhlig and Kayden Rodriguez each added two hits, while Aiden Straus had a hit and two RBIs. James Brock chipped in a hit and two RBIs, and both Luke Pennington and Kaden Condon added a hit. Brycen West also drove in a run for Hudsonville. On the mound, Luke Pennington and Jacob Clifton combined for four solid innings of work. Pennington struck out six batters and Clifton added two more, while the Eagles played excellent defense behind them to keep Loy Norrix from building any momentum. Hudsonville stayed hot in Game 2, earning a 12-2 win in five innings to finish off the sweep. Aiden Straus continued his strong day with two hits and three RBIs, while Kenten Poll added two hits and two RBIs. Kaden Condon collected two hits of his own, and Luke Uhlig, James Brock, and Carson Weemhoff each had a hit as well. Brock drove in two runs, Uhlig added one RBI, Graham Rosema brought home one, and Weemhoff contributed an RBI. Carson Weemhoff and Kaden Condon handled the pitching duties in Game 2, combining for five innings. Weemhoff struck out five and Condon added two strikeouts as Hudsonville controlled the game from start to finish.
