Hudsonville JV split a Thursday doubleheader against South Christian, taking game one 11-10 before falling 16-5 in game two. In the opener, Hudsonville jumped out to a 9-1 lead but had to hold off a late South Christian comeback to secure the win. Hits came from Jack Arens, Luke Uhlig (2), Aiden Straus (2), and Micah McPhaul. Uhlig also got the start on the mound, throwing three strong innings while allowing just one run and striking out four. Kayden Rodriguez and James Brock also pitched for the Eagles. Game two saw Hudsonville struggle defensively, committing six errors that led to several big innings for South Christian in the loss. Offensive contributions came from Aiden Straus, Jack Arens, James Brock (2), Kenten Poll, Kayden Rodriguez, and Luke Pennington. Multiple Eagles saw time on the mound. Hudsonville resumes play Monday against East Kentwood.
