Eagles JV Sweep Doubleheader Against East Kentwood

By Nicholas Huizenga | May 20, 2026 11:55 AM

Hudsonville JV baseball had a big day on Monday, sweeping East Kentwood with a 7-1 win in game one followed by an 18-2 victory in game two. The Eagles came out ready to play from the first inning of both games, scoring early and keeping the pressure on all afternoon. Hudsonville finished the day with 25 runs on 20 hits and got contributions from up and down the lineup. A lot of different players made an impact offensively. Hits came from Condon, Rodriguez, Brock, Weemhoff, McPhaul, Ratuszny, Uhlig, Arens, Poll, Miller, and West, with several players collecting multiple hits during the doubleheader. Hudsonville consistently found ways to put runners on base and cash in scoring opportunities. The pitching staff also had a strong day. Hudsonville used nine different pitchers across the two games, with most throwing one inning each. The staff kept East Kentwood from building any momentum and allowed the Eagles to stay in control throughout both games. After taking game one 7-1, Hudsonville’s offense really got rolling in the second game. The Eagles jumped out early once again and never slowed down on their way to the 18-2 win. Hudsonville will look to finish off the sweep against East Kentwood on Wednesday at home.
