Varsity vs Grandville High School (9 - 4) Win Varsity vs Zeeland West High School (6 - 4) Win The EAGLES open District play with a game vs Zeeland West. We scored two runs in the first inning on a two run single by Lauren Luchies. We added two more in the second on one single and four walks. We go up 5-0 in the third on a single by Ainslee and a triple by Kam. Zeeland West comes back with four runs in the fourth inning on a walk and four singles. We add one in the fifth to go up by two runs. Paige Visser pitched the first five innings and Sophia VanKempen came in to shut the door pitching two perfect innings District Finals: Hiudsonville 9 jGrandville. 4 We got off to a great start in the finals as we jumped out to an 8-1 lead through five innings. We made it 9-1 in the sixth, but Grandville scored three runs in the sixth. Sophia VanKempen pitched a good game and shut them down until the sixth inning. Paige Visser came in and threw the final inning and striking out two batterrs. Kam Stankus led the offense with three hits, three runs scored, and two runs batted in. Heffelbower, Veenstra, Kylee Fox, and Tomaszewski all had two hits. Congrats to the EAGLE SOFTBALL TEAM on winning the District, their third on in a row. They will play in the Regional at Rockford next Saturday at 10:00 vs Byron Center. Rockford and Grand Haven will play at 12:30 and the two winners will play at 2:30.
