Hudsonville Earns Hard-Fought Win Over Grandville

Hudsonville High School’s girls swimming and diving team earned a hard-fought 184-131 victory over Grandville on Thursday night, showcasing great team depth. The Eagles were led by multiple event winners, including Charlotte Germain, who captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.31) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.42), Bri Butler, who won the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.53) and 500-yard freestyle (5:36.90), and Nora VanEerden, who took first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.58) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.82). Additional top-eight individual finishers included: 200 Freestyle: Taylor Vaiana (3rd), Reese Schmidt (5th), Bri Moelker (7th) 200 IM: Ella VanEerden (2nd), Emmerson Roberts (3rd), Aaliyah Bukvic (5th) 50 Freestyle: Bailey Bakker (3rd), Makenzie Milward (5th), Audrey Kucek (6th) 100 Butterfly: Emmerson Roberts (3rd), Ella VanEerden (4th), Grace Reinke (7th) 100 Freestyle: Taylor Vaiana (2nd), Bailey Bakker (3rd), Audrey Kucek (5th), Makenzie Milward (6th) 500 Freestyle: Paige Hofman (4th), Bri Moelker (5th), Jaycee Clemens (6th) 100 Backstroke: Aaliyah Bukvic (3rd), Klara Wimpee (4th), Reese Schmidt (6th), Charlotte Skavnak (7th) 100 Breaststroke: Alexa Kramer (4th), Aubrey Bourdon (5th), Allison Kucek (6th) Hudsonville also earned valuable points in diving, with Brielle Tornga finishing second and Emmie Plaggemeyer taking third. The Eagles' relay teams were a major factor in the victory. Hudsonville won all 3 relays on Thursday’s OK Red showdown.
