Hudsonville Girls Swim & Dive beats EK to move to 1 and 0 in the OK RED

The Hudsonville High School girls swim and dive team showcased its depth and talent today, coming up victorious against East Kentwood High School with a final score of 173-117 in their dual meet. The Eagles demonstrated strength across all events, securing first-place finishes in both individual and relay competitions. The team started strong by sweeping the top two spots in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, with the 'A' team of Grace Van De Burg, Nora VanEerden, Emmerson Roberts, and Lydia Oosterbaan taking first place with a time of 1:56.48. This early momentum set the tone for the entire meet. The 'B' team of Aaliyah Bukvic, Alexa Kramer, Taylor Vaiana, and Bailey Bakker also performed well, finishing second with a time of 2:03.55. Hudsonville's strong performances continued throughout the evening. Sydney Davidson led the way in diving, claiming the top spot on the 1-meter board with a score of 177.50. In the pool, the team secured a number of first-place victories. Taylor Vaiana was a standout, winning both the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:21.26 and the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:34.29.33. Other individual event winners included Grace Van De Burg in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:05.00), Makenzie Milward in the 50 Yard Freestyle (:27.23), Emmerson Roberts in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:04.77), and Brianne Butler in the 100 Yard Freestyle (:56.26). The Eagles also demonstrated their power in the relays, with the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay 'A' team of Makenzie Milward, Katelyn Wiles, Brianne Butler, and Kayla Bolhuis finishing in first place with a time of 1:49.39.
