On a near perfect race day with sunshine and cool temperatures, the Hudsonville Girls cross country team won the Region 1 cross country meet. By doing so, they also qualified for the State meet held at MIS next weekend. Cassie Karasinski (OK Red Conference champion) raced to a regional individual championship with a time of 18:04. Strong performances were also ran by Grace Snyder, Lexie Snyder, Chloe Purwin and Ashley Wayne. Lexie gained ground on 7 other runners in the last 800m to really help the Eagles to the win. Michaela Pries & Sidney Eaton also had great races.
